Is CUMPANIS bread vegan?

Sourdough is definitely the best bread to have in playa del carmen. A lot of our customers are mindful people that are interested in how it is made and are curious about the ingredients it contains.

If you are vegan, this awareness may turn into an obsession, as you slowly discover that everything commonly available, has animals involved and committed somewhere along the chain.
The simplest of bread can contains eggs, milk or some other animal product. Rest assured that it is not our case. We do the simplest of bread and it surely does not contain any milk or eggs.

We think the bread should be made with the fewest ingredients possible but of the highest quality. This minimalistic approach leads to a product that is made of only 3 ingredients: Flour, water and salt. The 4th would be the sourdough but, technically, it’s made of flour and water.

You don’t have to worry about the origin of the grease, oil, butter or milk, because there is none.

All of our regular bread is also available in the organic version if you want to reach another level of authenticity and wholesomeness.

Now, beware ! Because to every rule, there is an exception: our breads are vegan by nature but we also sell other products that contain dairy.
We do sell a cheese bread that is made with cow milk. It is not vegan and does not comply with vegan standards. Every bread is vegan…but this one.
